We here at this site like to be helpful with our advice whenever the opportunity presents itself. And one of those ways is to give advice to various sectors of society when we feel they may need it. And the sector we want to help today is the industry of ‘bank robbing’. Specifically how to get away with bank robbing if you’re caught.

Now we don’t encourage bank robbing as a career choice. It’s fraught with peril and there’s all sorts of complicated ‘rules’ about it that aren’t entirely clear and provide a minefield for the prospective bank robber to wade through.

To put it in layman's terms, if caught ‘bank robbing’ offer to give the money back. It’s that simple! Just give the money back and find some other way to rob a bank. Maybe the next time you won’t get caught. But if caught just offer the money back. The bank will take it and say, “Hey, thanks for being so honest and giving the money back without being forced to. We’ll now cover up any investigation that might have occurred due to your robbing of my bank.”

See how easy that is! And if you yourself are uncomfortable giving the money back cuz say you spent it all already, just go to your sugar mommy or sugar daddy and get them to pay it back for you. Your mommy will go to the bank and say, "Ohhh my son’s a good little boy, he’s just mixing with a bad crowd, he didn’t understand the rules, he’s stupider than a sackful of hammers, he’d never intentionally rob a bank that he intentionally robbed, he’s just so confused. Please pay off my boy’s debt to society so he can proudly proclaim that he paid the stolen money back. That he didn’t intentionally steal by signing documents declaring his intent!”

And once you’ve done that, you’re free to continue working as a bank robber for the rest of time (or until age 75) thinking up whole new ways to rob the bank.

ARAB VILLAGE OF LIFTA, THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD, STILL STANDS EMPTY AND CLEANSED OF ITS RIGHTFUL INHABITANTS

Standing within the boundaries of the holy city, Lifta is one of the 68 villages surrounding Jerusalem that were ethnically cleansed during the Israeli systematic attack in 1948. Unlike the others, it is the only Arab village that has not been destroyed since.

Israel confiscated the village land under the Absentee Property law in 1950, despite recognition by the Fourth Geneva Convention of the right of refugees to be repatriated.

Some of its inhabitants found shelter a few hundred meters away, certain of soon being able to return to their former homes, while others fled to the West Bank and are now unable to visit their village due to the severe restrictions on Palestinian movement imposed by the Israeli government.

Last year, the Israel Land Authority (ILA) issued a tender for a construction plan for 212 luxury housing units on the Lifta site. The Jerusalem District Court for technical reasons rejected the measure, but the plan is still on stand-by.

One of the former inhabitants of Lifta is Yacoub Odeh, born in 1940 and among the last holders of the oral history of the village. When not working at the Land & Housing Research Centre in Jerusalem, Odeh organises guided tours, bringing Lifta back to life for a couple of hours with memories of the bread baked in the tabboun, the taste of za’tar and fresh olive oil and the smell of homemade ka’ak. Odeh recounts how the members of the community lived, how they shared food and water and helped one another cultivate their lands. He describes his village as jennah, or "paradise" but goes on to acknowledge, "As Arabs say, paradise without people is nothing."

Due to its strategic position, Lifta was one of the first villages attacked by the Israeli forces in 1948, the year remembered by Palestinians as the Nakba, the catastrophe. Odeh was only 8 years old at that time, but his memories of that day are still vivid. When he heard the shooting, he was at home with his mother, who hid him and his siblings under a table.

One of the men of the village used his truck to drive the children to Ramallah, away from the conflict. "One moment we had everything, we were happy, and the moment after we were beggars," Odeh remembers. During the tours, he carries with him many documents proving Palestinian ownership of the land, one of which dates back to the Ottoman Empire.

"Unfortunately," he argues, "this is not a matter of law, but of law of force."

1912 CRANE MODEL 3 PHAETON

Once upon a time a long time ago people with the means to do so didn’t just buy a car and then trade it in a few years later for another car. They bought a car to last their lifetime. It was a purchase as important to them as the Chippendale sofa they may have acquired and meant to last just as long. The style of it was what the purchaser required and had no interest in ‘modernizing’ down the road.  This was the car you were meant to be seen in, associated with and identified by.

The Crane Motor Company of Bayonne, New Jersey produced very high end high quality automobiles from 1912 through 1915. They were costly, the chassis alone was valued at $8000, this at a time when a Model T Ford cost $500, but these were cars for those to whom money was no object.

In 1912, the company began the production of the Model 3. It came equipped with a six-cylinder engine that delivered 46 horsepower and was mated to a four-speed transmission and featured shaft drive. Crane built the chassis then sent the vehicles to coachbuilders to be fitted with coachwork. A popular coachbuilder for the Crane was Brewster & Company and most of the Cranes wore their coachwork.

Between 1912 and 1913, around 20 examples of the Model 3 were built. 4 were built in 1914. The companies six-cylinder engine caught the attention of the well-established Simplex Automobile Company of New Brunswick, NJ. Many automakers were switching to larger, more powerful engines, and the Simplex chain drive four-cylinder engine was in need of being replaced. The Simplex Automobile Company purchased the Crane Motor Car Company and future cars were known as the Crane-Simplex. Production continued in the Simplex factory and by 1917, around 500 chassis examples were built. Brewster continued on as one of the favoured coachbuilders, along with Holbrook, Demarest, and Healey.

Socialite Helen Hartley Jenkins of Madison Avenue, NYC, originally owned this Crane Model 3. One of the wealthiest women in America, she originally paid $15,000 for the car. The Seal Cove museum of Maine acquired it in 1986 where it currently resides still in good running order.

SAUDI NATIONAL STUDENT IN AMERICA QUESTIONED ABOUT HIS PRESSURE COOKER

A Saudi student living in Michigan was questioned in his home by FBI agents after neighbours saw him carrying a pressure cooker and called the police.

Talal al Rouki had been cooking a traditional Saudi Arabian rice dish called kabsah and was carrying it to a friend's house.

According to reports in a Saudi newspaper on Friday, the FBI are increasingly vigilant about 'pressure cooker' home-made bombs after the Boston bombers used one to make an explosive.

The Saudi journal, Oukaz reported on the story of the Saudi student who had FBI agents come to his home, following a tip-off from neighbours that he was seen moving about with a pressure cooker bomb.

While armed agents surrounded his apartment block, other agents, asked a 'nervous' Mr al Rouki if they could come in to question him.

'They asked me about my major, when I arrived in the US and what I do in my spare time' he told the Saudi newspaper.

Officers said that two days earlier that a woman had seen him walking out of his apartment carrying the pressure cooker pot, which was described as 'bullet coloured’.

The young student showed them his pressure cooker and explained to them he used to make a rice dish.

Mr al Rouki has become a focus of attention now in the Saudi press.

ANARCHISTS, ARSON AND THE STUPIDITY OF COMBINING THE TWO

We at this site support social and political protest completely and absolutely. Cover your face, paint slogans on walls, commit acts of minor mischief and mayhem and we have nothing against that. We simply don’t feel that laws written to suppress the rights of people to protest without asking permission first have any validity with ALL the people. They’re written by governments formed by the wealthy, for the wealthy, to support the economic malfeasance of the wealthy and as such, completely undemocratic in nature. Until the system is changed to one that cannot be corrupted by the 1% we’re always going to side with the little guy who has to do what‘s necessary to gain attention for a cause intentionally suppressed by the elite. What we claim is a democracy is not much of one.

But this business of torching construction sites (or anything else for that matter) is a no-no. There are children living in those houses right near the 1st and Victoria arson attack and fire is one of the most sickening killers of children there is. The horror of it is beyond contemplation and so the stupid idiots who set this fire, and who would have to live with the horror of their deed for the rest of their lives if it had gone wrong, need to smarten up and drop that idea as a protest of any kind. Arson is not a protest, it is deadly dangerous and idiotic to toy with. Fire can spread in an instant and trap innocent people in a particularly horrific manner.

So we ask that if you know of who did this, consider turning them in to the local authorities or at least make it absolutely clear to them that this is not part of the otherwise valid protest system. This is stupidity and should not be tolerated by anyone. And if one of those involved in this is the guy who drifted into Vancouver a few months back dressed in black fatigues and sporting an Adolf Hitler mustache (which he’s now shaved off) we suggest you go back to wherever it is you came from. You’re an idiot and we don't want you here!

CHRISTIANS BRUTALLY BEATEN BY AUTHORITIES IN THE HOLY LAND WHILE THE PRIME MINISTER DOES NOTHING TO DEFEND THE FAITH

The Heads of Christian Churches and Patriarchs in Jerusalem condemned in a statement the brutal treatment of the clergy, people, and pilgrims in the Old City of Jerusalem during Holy Saturday last week, the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation said in a press release.

"A day of joy and celebration was turned to great sorrow and pain for some of our faithful because they were ill-treated by Israeli policemen who were present around the gates of the Old City and passages that lead to the Holy Sepulcher," Heads of Churches said in a statement.

"We understand the necessity and the importance of the presence of security forces to ensure order and stability, and for organizing the celebration of the Holy Fire at the Church of the Resurrection," They continued, "Yet, it is not acceptable that under pretext of security and order, our clergy and people are indiscriminately and brutally beaten, and prevented from entering their churches, monasteries and convents."

They urged the Israeli authorities, especially the Ministry of Interior and the police department in Jerusalem, to seriously consider their complaints, to hold responsibility and to condemn all acts of violence against their faithful and the clergy who were ill-treated by the police.

They deplore that every year, the police measures are becoming tougher, and they expect these accidents will not be repeated and the police should be more sensitive and respectful if they seek to protect and serve.

They added, "We also denounce all those who are blaming the churches and holding them responsible of the Israeli measures during Holy Week celebrations."

The Heads of Christian churches in Jerusalem condemn all of these measures and violations of Christians' rights to worship in their churches and Holy Sites. They also condemn all measures of closing the Old City and urge the Israeli authorities to allow full access to the Holy sites during Holy Week of both Church Calendars.

The Harper government of Canada, despite establishing an Office of Religious Freedom theoretically created specifically for these eventualities, has done nothing to condemn this appalling attack on the rights and freedoms of Christians in the Holy Land. The blood of Christian martyrs runs through the streets of Jerusalem while our government looks on unconcerned.

BC LIBERAL CHRISTY CLARK, NOTORIOUS RUNNER OF RED LIGHTS, ELECTED PREMIER OF BC, THE SAME PROVINCE THAT ROUTINELY ELECTS DRUNK DRIVERS

The drunk driving, red light running province of BC has maintained its consistent appreciation for reckless public endangerment on the part of its Premiers by electing Christy Clark as Premier despite a horrific recent accident caused by a red light runner that killed an entire family in Surrey.

In fact, the voters of BC didn’t show any kind of support for Christy Clark until she proved to them, with a reporter in the back seat, that she was willing to commit reckless acts of public endangerment to endear herself to the twisted people of BC. Then they came out in droves to support her.

With this kind of person as Premier, we don’t expect any improvement in the care of the disabled of BC, despite the fact that drunk drivers and red light runners often cause the disabilities of those who then have to make do with minimal disability assistance rates and poor housing.

We figure the motto of BC must be, “Sure it’s fun to cause people to become disabled but we don’t want to have to care for them afterwards!”

1910 CHADWICK SIX MODEL 19

The Chadwick motorcars were created by Lee Sherman Chadwick, who was an engineering student at Purdue University in the U.S. At the tender age of just 24 he invented a mechanism for a washing-machine manufacturer. From this he naturally moved over to the burgeoning autocar industry and formed his own company in operation during the years before the First World War.

It is believed that around 300 Chadwick Six Model 19 examples were created. Today, there are only two survivors. It is rather unfortunate as these were truly impressive automobiles. The extremely large six-cylinder engine displaced over 11 liters and produced an astonishing 75 horsepower. This would have translated to a breathtaking 60 mph, even faster on a racetrack. Considering the road conditions and safety devices of cars of this era, this was an impressive, albeit dangerous, accomplishment. For an additional fee, the engine could be fitted with a supercharger, the first of its kind available in North America.

A wonderful example of the incredible diversity and inventiveness of the early years of auto motoring!

 

DOUG FINLEY, ARCHITECT OF EVIL AND FEEDER AT THE PUBLIC PURSE, IS DEAD!

In case anyone’s wondering what that sulfurous smell is in the air, the gates of Hell opened up today to take in one of their own. So-called Senator and neo-con Tory strategist Doug Finley died from cancer and was swallowed up back into the pit in which his kind spawn.

Widely considered the chief architect of the Harper revolution of evil, the foreign-born Finley was a close personal friend of Stephen Harper and the husband of Human Resources Minister Diane Finley. Naturally, like all worshippers of ‘smaller’ government, he fed heartily off the taxpayer himself. As does his widow. As do all the Harper cronies, getting fat while feeding out of the trough of working class sweat, blood and toil.

But this evil destructive piggy is now frying in the fire of his own devising. Amen!

THE RENOWNED STEPHEN HAWKING DECLINES TO ATTEND ISRAELI ACADEMIC CONFERENCE

Professor Stephen Hawking is supporting the academic boycott of Israel by pulling out of a conference hosted by Israeli president Shimon Peres in Jerusalem as a protest at Israel's treatment of Palestinians.

Hawking, 71, the world-renowned theoretical physicist and Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, had accepted an invitation to headline the fifth annual president's conference, Facing Tomorrow, in June, which features major international personalities, attracts thousands of participants and this year will celebrate Peres's 90th birthday.

But following a closer examination of the activities of the major participants he issued this press release:

"I have received a number of emails from Palestinian academics. They are unanimous that I should respect the boycott. In view of this, I must withdraw from the conference. Had I attended I would have stated my opinion that the policy of the present Israeli government is likely to lead to disaster."

Professor Hawking's decision marks another victory in the campaign for boycott, divestment and sanctions targeting Israeli academic institutions. When academics of his intellectual standing turn away in disgust, the whole world is affected by this action and the scientific community as a whole is awakened.

11 YEAR OLD KEILA PENNER EXPELLED FROM SCHOOL FOR WEARING OTTAWA SENATORS JERSEY INSTEAD OF A MONTREAL CANADIANS SHIRT

In one of the most foul, cowardly and disgusting acts we’ve yet heard of, a young 11 year old student of a Montreal school was expelled from school for wearing an Ottawa Senators jersey to school instead of a Montreal Canadians jersey. The school had encouraged the students to wear their Habs jersey instead of their school uniform.

Keila Penner, who attends Maple Grove Elementary School in Lachine, is not a Habs’ fan, and so she chose to wear her Sens’ jersey instead. She was ordered to change her shirt. She could either wear her school uniform or a Canadiens’ jersey that the gym teacher held out to her.

Her response? “I told her, I’m not taking off my shirt.” So her father had to come and get her.

The bullied child bravely stood her ground and the Ottawa Senators ownership later, to reward her for her loyalty in the face of the violence of school officials, sent a limo around to her home and treated her and her family to a free day at the Ottawa Senators playoff game this evening.

The bullying and cowardly school officials, as is usual in these situations, went into hiding to avoid personal responsibility for their behaviour. What a foul lesson in good sportsmanship this school is teaching. An absolute disgrace and we expect arrests to be made.

1921 BREWSTER DOUBLE ENCLOSED LIMOUSINE

Brewster & Co. was established by James Brewster of New Haven, Connecticut in 1810. In 1878, the firm won international acclaim at the Paris Carriage Exhibition. In 1905, the company built its first body for the automobile industry and by 1911, they had abandoned carriages entirely and moved to Long Island City, New York. In 1914, Brewster took on a Rolls-Royce franchise.

From 1915 to 1925 it constructed a series of elegant, extremely expensive automobiles at its plant in Long Island, N.Y. The company also produced coaches for Rolls-Royce. Eventually, Brewster was absorbed into Rolls-Royce America, Inc.

Brewster models came in a variety of body styles all with a hefty price tag attached. The prices ranged from $5,250 to over $10,000 with most of the line-up comprised of broughams, landaulets and limousines. There were several open body styles available, such as a phaeton, two-passenger runabout, and a club runabout with a rumble seat arising out of the rear deck.

This particular car was acquired from its original purchaser by Donald Cardwell in 1939, and remained in his possession until his passing, in 2009. It was then purchased by the current owner; to date, it has traveled a mere 26,510 miles. It is un-restored, including its original paint, engine and exhaust system. It is powered by a 50 horsepower Knight sleeve-valve four-cylinder engine and is still quite drivable.

The cars were quite popular in the New York City area with prices exceeding $10,000. Brewster owners included American aristocracy such as E.F. Hutton, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and J.P. Morgan. Very little changed from the time the company began production in 1915 to when production was suspended in 1925. It is one of 473 Brewsters produced, of which approximately 30 survive. This is the only double enclosed drive example known to exist.

THE UNITED NATIONS MAKE A CLEAR AND UNAMBIGUOUS STATEMENT REGARDING INTERNATIONAL LAW

UN human rights officials have now declared that force feeding amounts to torture, saying "it is unjustifiable to engage in forced feeding of individuals contrary to their informed and voluntary refusal of such a measure." Their statement reads, in part:

…[A]ccording to the World Medical Assembly’s Declaration of Malta, in cases involving people on hunger strikes, the duty of medical personnel to act ethically and the principle of respect for individuals’ autonomy, among other principles, must be respected. Under these principles, it is unjustifiable to engage in forced feeding of individuals contrary to their informed and voluntary refusal of such a measure. Moreover, hunger strikers should be protected from all forms of coercion, even more so when this is done through force and in some cases through physical violence. Health care personnel may not apply undue pressure of any sort on individuals who have opted for the extreme recourse of a hunger strike. Nor is it acceptable to use threats of forced feeding or other types of physical or psychological coercion against individuals who have voluntarily decided to go on a hunger strike.

The UN has also called for an immediate end to the indefinite detention without charge or trial of 166 prisoners at Gitmo, warning, "the continuing and indefinite detention of individuals without the right to due process is arbitrary and constitutes a clear violation of international law. This situation is particularly clear with respect to those prisoners—at least 86—who have been cleared for transfer by the Government of the United States of America,"

If we as individuals within a society believe in law and order, if we believe in obedience to the international courts of law established by all signatory nations freely and without reservation, if we believe that any contravention of that law should be dealt with firmly and justly, then we need to be making sure that our government is respecting the rule of international law by insisting that our local government representatives, within whatever democratic framework we live in (be it parliamentary or republican representation) obey those laws and insist on their enforcement.

To fail to do so would mean the eventual collapse of the United Nations in much the same manner as its predecessor the League of Nations and would render international law pointless and the risk of a descent into global anarchy inevitable.

TORY CHRIS ALEXANDER NOW DYES HIS HAIR RED. OR DID HE FORGET TO APPLY THE BLONDE DYE?

There’s a federal Tory neo-con flunky named Chris Alexander who’s routinely on the CBC show Power and Politics with Evan Solomon pushing the Conservative agenda of theft and incompetence, and an odd and weird mystery has arisen as of yesterday.

Normally this guy is blond. But on the show Friday, which he was late arriving at, he had red hair.

So it raises the inevitable question, is he a blond deciding to dye his hair red or is he a natural redhead who decided when embarking on a political career to be a blonde? Did he, in his rush to get on, forget to put in the blond dye that afternoon, or was he late because he was busy at the hairdressers trying out a new colour? He was also really bitchy in the interview like he was mad that he was forced to reveal a secret.

We don’t think there’s much doubt based on the gibberish that spews out of his mouth that he is legally blond, that much we do know but we don’t know which came first, the red or the yellow. Listening to him defend the indefensible mostly just makes us blue!

POVERTY ACTIVIST ROBYN PICKELL HUNTED DOWN BY THE OWNERS OF PIDGIN RESTAURANT AND THEIR ARMED THRALLS

The well-heeled elites that own Pidgin Restaurant, an upscale restaurant parked in the centre of the worst poverty in the country i.e. Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, have instructed the Vancouver Police and Mayor McCheeseson along with his council, including Andrea Reimer a longtime director of the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, to hunt down like a dog young citizen of  poverty Robyn Claire Pickell for the crime of closing the front door of the restaurant when the smell of rich food became too much for the starving local residents of the area to tolerate. Apparently this upset those luxuriating inside and so the cops were called and charges demanded.

Most of those who support the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, an organization part of the environmental movement that the government of Canada has labelled ‘terrorists’, live in the lap of luxury with silver spoons crammed up their rectums and so Vancouver council and the mayor have come out in support of attacking this young woman for protesting exactly the same way that various weekend warrior protesters who are now wealthy elites did for our forests years ago, protests that the Western Canada Wilderness Committee lent support to.

In the meantime, a helicopter continuously day after day buzzes the Downtown Eastside all day long trying to aggravate and drive crazy and violent all the suffering residents of that neighbourhood, seemingly in the hopes that they’ll snap, commit illegal acts, and then Vision Vancouver and its fancy-pants crowd can swoop in and build more luxury condos. Most people, at least the 99%, would consider this at the very least unethical, but when it comes to a tiny group of pirates nothing is too unethical!

MARC GARNEAU, HEROIC CANADIAN, FAILS TO GET INVITE TO OPENING OF CANADARM EXHIBIT

You know, watching the usual Tory Party excuses for being nasty buggers, in this case not inviting Canada’s premier astronaut and hero Marc Garneau (Chris Hadfield being otherwise busy in space) to a gala opening of a Canadarm space exhibit (which he worked with) because he happens to belong to the wrong political party and then neo-Conartist minister James Moore, with a nasty glint in his eye, claiming he knew nothing about a lack of invitation to him, I find it really hard to accept that more than 30% of the voting population of the great nation of Canada are nasty buggers nasty enough to elect these nasty buggers.

There’s always going to be a minority of any population of any country who are just mean and nasty people but we apparently have well over 30% of our population in that category. It can’t possibly, with everything we’ve seen over the last 6 years, be a surprise any longer that the Conservative Party of Canada is a party by nasty buggers, for nasty buggers and meant only to serve nasty buggers. It's an entire party dedicated to the mind and mentality of Frank Burns of MASH fame.

CITIZENS MARCH ACROSS CANADA DEMANDING THEIR $3.1 BILLION BE RETURNED TO THEM; THE REASON FOR THE ANTI-PROTEST LAWS NOW BECOME CLEAR AS HUNDREDS ARRESTED

“We want our $3.1 billion back you thieving government criminals” was just one of the slogans heard across Canada yesterday as protest marches broke out all over the country.

Citizens angry at the ‘disappearance’ of over 3 billion dollars in tax money, money that has gone missing according to Auditor General Michael Ferguson in his spring report, took to the streets in anger and rage at our missing funds.

In Montreal alone, over 400 were arrested as the police use the anti-protester laws put in force for just this eventuality, that the people would rise up against this theft, to brutally put down citizen protests.

But We The People, bloodied, beaten and jailed, will still continue to demand the return of our $3.1 billion no matter how many laws are put in place to stop us. There will be justice for this government, there will be a reckoning as no matter how many electoral laws they twist and abuse for their purposes, there will be a new government to hold them fully accountable for their actions.

In the meantime we march!

VANCOUVER HOCKEY FANS REJECT BUYING CANUCK TICKETS

Well it’s the start of hockey playoffs after the fatcat owners of NHL teams held us fans hostage with a lockout for half a season and we notice something happening to the Canucks that, when we stop and think about it, shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise.

Relatively speaking, no one is buying the overpriced tickets for the Canucks playoff games. The team and it’s owner (what the hell’s his name Aquilini Zen or something??) are having to offer playoff tickets at (again relatively speaking) bargain basement prices due to lack of interest or demand.

Why is this not surprising? Because we BC’ers have already shown we’re more than capable of protesting what we feel is unacceptable. Just look at the HST fight. You can’t screw with us, we don’t roll over and beg like Ontarians and their ilk. Even our province’s wealthy elites, who are the only people these days who can afford NHL hockey tickets, a group not exactly noted for social protest, have shown their displeasure with their disinterest.

So go ahead Canucks front office, offer your tickets at half price. Who knows, we might even buy one or two. Or not. You've pissed us off!

We want to wade into the issue of female sports jounalists hanging out in male athletes dressing rooms. As you probably know, last Saturday the mouth that bores aka Don Cherry said that women should not be allowed in male dressing rooms cuz of all the nakedidity that goes on.

Normally we pay no attention to Mr. Cherry and his 1950’s perspective on the world but in this particular case there is a point to be made. The claim that the other side makes is that this is a matter of journalistic integrity and no journalist is there to ogle athletes of any kind, but instead to perform the job of journalism.

Okay fine.

If the matter is truly a case of journalistic integrity over crass sexual desire, then male reporters must also be in female athletes dressing rooms as they walk about naked etc. If that’s the case, if male journalists hang out with the naked female hockey players after a women’s tournament game then Don Cherry is, as usual, off his rocker on the subject.

But if the rules are different in this opposite but the same circumstance and female athletes have their nakedidity protected with boundaries and regulations that don’t currently exist the other way then Don Cherry is right. The same rules should apply for female journalists in male locker rooms. The journalistic integrity aspect of this argument goes out the door with the wet towels. There clearly isn’t any.

But we’ve never been sports journalists so don’t know which is true. Do you?

1953 BOSLEY MK1 GT

Richard Bosley of Mentor, Ohio created the Bosley MK1 even though he'd not to that point been any kind of automobile engineer. But he decided to build the car of his dreams. Since Richard Bosley was a horticultural farmer by trade, he was unable to fund production of his car so this prototype was the only Bosley Mark I GT ever produced.

Powering the car was a Chrysler Hemi breathing through 6 carburetors. It had a quick change rear end courtesy of a 1948 Mercury, a 102-inch wheelbase and an overall length of 168 inches. Braking power was provided by Lincoln 12-inch drums riding on magnesium center-lock wheels. The transmission was a five-speed unit built by the New Process company. The bodywork was done by Mr. Bosley, with many of the interior and exterior parts sourced from various other vehicles.

The low-slung fiberglass body, potent engine, and its 55-gallon fuel tank made it a suitable vehicle for long distance racing. It had a top speed in the neighborhood of 160 mph. A pretty darn good first effort and of course this car today is very rare and unique.

FOREIGN NATIONAL BRIAN BURKE SUES LOYAL HARDWORKING CANADIANS, INCLUDING POSSIBLY CANADIANS WHO FOUGHT AGAINST ADOLF HITLER AND THE THIRD REICH

They could be nuns, they could be doctors working on life-saving cures for stuff, they could be hospice care workers making cancer patients last days a little better, we simply don’t know who all the Canadians are that Brian Burke, a foreign born American is suing for defamation of his character. HIS character, can you imagine that considering what we know!!

As near as we can tell, all these loyal Canadians did was repeat what’s already been reported on in various sites throughout the internet. It appears this information was left on those sites just so that some unsuspecting loyal Canadians could repeat them on a mainstream media site and fall into this sinister trap against Canada and loyal Canadians.

What’s even worse, the Prime Minister does not appear to be stepping in to protect Canadians in this dark hour when our safety is so at risk. Why not, we ask? How many Canadians fell defending our country against Adolf Hitler. Shouldn’t they and their families be protected?

OTTAWA STUDENTS SUSPENDED FOR NOT HAVING IMMUNIZATION PAPERWORK

In one of the most sickening stories we’ve yet encountered, almost 1,000 of Ottawa’s high school students have been suspended for improperly kept immunization records. The students have been sent home for 20 days, their education in ruins, for not having the records of their immunizations, not even necessarily for not having their shots, just the paperwork.

Ottawa Public Health said the provincial Immunization of School Pupils Act gives them the power to suspend students until they can show they’ve been immunized. The city’s associate medical director of health said students who are potentially not immunized from certain diseases pose a threat to more than just themselves. The same could be said of the people making an idiotic decision such as this.

And this is despite the fact that the medical industry refuses to name the ingredients in the chemicals forcibly injected into children, chemicals which could very well lead to abnormal, even criminal behaviour later in life. We simply don’t know as the ingredients aren’t known to anyone but the manufacturer.

So because of an idiotic terrorist inspired idea like these suspensions clearly are, these kids, instead of finding cures for cancer and saving the world with their educations will instead become street people and dope dealers, a burden to society for the rest of their lives. What possible good is this? Why would we as a society make a decision to destroy young educational careers in this manner? Have we completely lost our moral compass and gone right off the deep end?

And what was the point to these kids keeping their noses clean and following all the rules and regulations of their schools? The message being sent here is, “kids we’re gonna screw you over anyway so you may as well act up in class, break all the rules, goof off badly enough to warrant real suspensions because we’re gonna do it to you anyway!”

What an appallingly stupid and misguided action this is!

VANCOUVER POLICE DEPARTMENT BREAK MIDDLE-CLASS TAXPAYERS WRIST

Middle-class citizen Tania Belleau said she was walking home from her sister’s home on Abbott Street at around 9 p.m. Wednesday when she was stopped by two police officers.

“They said ‘Where you going?’ I said ‘Home.’ then these two guys said ‘Put your hands behind your back, you’re arrested,” the 26-year-old convenience store clerk said.

Tania Belleau, 26, says Vancouver police officers arrested her on the street as she was walking home, breaking her wrist in the process. Belleau, who had not been drinking, claimed she was then thrown into a police wagon and taken to jail.

“I know the officer put on the handcuffs too tight,” she said. “It was so tight that…I couldn’t even feel anything.”

Belleau said she repeatedly asked officers to go to the hospital to treat her wrist, but it wasn’t until she was released from jail nine hours later – at 6 a.m. – when an officer called an ambulance.

She said doctors at St. Paul’s Hospital took an X-ray and confirmed her wrist had been broken.

“The pain was unbelievable. It was unbearable pain,” she said. “I’m a caring, loving person, but I had to go through what I did. It’s not fair.”

Belleau’s employer said she has worked for her for nine years and that she’s been a model employee.

“She’s very calm and easy, she doesn’t swear, she doesn’t get aggressive or anything like that,” Cindy Grewal said. “She’s a very, very good person.”

Grewal said the nine hours Belleau spent in jail will haunt her for the rest of her life.

“Police should have taken her seriously, they should have taken her to the hospital when she’s complaining she’s in pain,” her employer said.

Belleau, has no criminal record, in other words, just like you, me and our children who walk down the street expecting to be safe from criminal violence. No gangsters or rapists were arrested that night. There's no reason to believe that that's because they're usually bigger and tougher.

And keep in mind that the Vancouver police department answer to Vancouver City Council, which Andrea Reimer, a director of the Western Wilderness Committee, is a councillor of. Why does the Western Wilderness Committee encourage police brutality by not stopping it through their director and city councillor, Andrea Reimer?

ISRAELIS FLATTEN SAME BEDOUIN VILLAGE 49 TIMES

Al-Araqib, Israel - Hakmeh Abu Mdeighem sat quietly on a cement cinderblock last Wednesday, looking out across a small valley at where, moments earlier, Israeli police bulldozers had turned a handful of tents and shacks into piles of sandy rubble. The 49th demolition of the Bedouin village of Al-Araqib had just ended, and Abu Mdeighe, a mother of nine, spoke unflinchingly.

"One feels that one doesn't live in one's own country anymore. One feels that a continuous war is going on between him and Israel. This is a war that Israel wages against us every month," she said. "What can we do when the state comes and fights you inside your own house, on your own ground, when it destroys your house on the heads of your sons?"

Abu Mdeighem, her husband and her children, live inside the village's century-old Islamic cemetery. The burial ground is the only place in Al-Araqib that has never been demolished. It is here that the handful of families who remain now call home.

"They threatened to destroy the cemetery before this," Abu Mdeighem said. "It is really painful… what they are doing. Painful, very painful. When a person does not scream, and just lets others see his tears, it is painful."

Originally home to about 300 residents reaching back into the very earliest days of humanity, Al-Araqib is located just north of Be'er Sheva in Israel's Negev desert. The village is one of dozens that has never been recognized by the state, and doesn't feature on any official maps. Its residents are denied access to water, electricity, paved roads, hospitals, schools and other basic services.

Hundreds of Israeli police officers and soldiers first demolished dozens of homes and animal pens and uprooted thousands of olive trees in Al-Araqib in July 2010. The Israeli authorities have regularly returned to demolish tents and basic structures that residents have erected there ever since. It's become a symbol of the right of the Bedouin to live as they've lived for thousands of years rather than forced into ghettos in the towns and cities.

VANCOUVER POLICE BREAK CHILDS ARM; WESTERN WILDERNESS COMMITTEE INVOLVED

A Vancouver mom is filing a complaint with the Vancouver Police Department after her teenage child was arrested at a concert and ended up with a broken arm and severed tendons that needed surgery.

Chas Coutlee says she wants police to answer how her 17-year-old daughter Tanika (or any child for that matter) could be so seriously injured after an arrest that resulted in no charges outside the Pacific Coliseum.

“I’m upset because I’m frustrated she was hurt,” said Coutlee.

Tanika Coutlee was inside the all-ages Calvin Harris concert on March 30. She had two friends with her who bought tickets from scalpers that weren’t accepted at the door. Tanika’s ticket was purchased legally.

Coutlee says security allowed her out of the venue to say goodbye to them at about 10:30 p.m. that night, but then didn’t allow her back in.

“I said ‘I paid for this, I paid over $100, I’m getting back in.’ They pushed me out,” she told CTV News. “Before I knew it I had my arms tied behind my back, I was lifted off the ground, and I started freaking out.”

Coutlee, who says she weighs about 100 pounds, fought back against the security guards and then the police joined the fray. She was put face-down on the pavement and then lifted up by a police officer. That’s when she said the injury happened.

She was taken into custody at the venue and police called her mom to pick her up. The arm swelled up and bruised the next day. She visited a doctor at Royal Columbian Hospital, who said she had a broken arm with ripped tendons that required surgery.

Vancouver Police won’t talk about what happened to the minor, but they did acknowledge that they had several incidents involving children at the event. Ambulances were present for the more severe cases of police brutality against children. Vancouver officials like to be prepared if big strong men decide to get their jollies roughing up kids so they keep a squad of ambulances nearby at these events.

This is a special treat for our Motoring page. A German built Auto-Union Silver Arrow racing machine from the heyday of auto racing in Europe in the mid to late 30's. These cars are some of the most beautiful machines ever built for racing, fast, sleek and rocket-shaped stylish, the very pinnacle of the sport when the competition was fierce and the drivers who raced for Auto-Union, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo and Mercedes duelled, sometimes literally to the death, for supremacy.

Names such as Hans Stuck, Bernd Rosemeyer and Tazio Nuvolari are inseparably linked wîth the Auto Únion Silver Arrows.Veritable gods in their field, these great drivers and their fantastic racing machines created a world of competition the likes of which have never been seen, even in the modern era. This was the pinnacle of the sport and many would say this car was the King.

Powered by a 16 cylinder 366 cubic inch monster of an engine producing 520 horsepower, this car could rocket its 1600 pounds of weight (plus driver) to a then astonishing 195 mph. Indy cars were rolling around at 140 mph at that time so this is a massive increase in autosport global top speeds, which made the European racing circuit one of the most thrilling and dangerous ever seen. And Bernd Rosemeyer, in testing, got one of these cars up to 225 mph on a straight one day, so the capabilities were even higher.

But it all came to an end with the Second World War and motor racing of this kind was never seen again. Most of these cars were destroyed during the war but a couple still exist and faithful copies have been built that modern race car drivers such as Jackie Ickx and Hans Stuck's racing son Hans-Joachim Stuck race at special events all over Europe to celebrate the Golden Age of racing.

Why an MLA for the BC Liberals would advertise a teen porn site is beyond our ability to grasp. What concerns us is how many young minds have been horribly poisoned by contact with this site. How many kids have now had their first introduction to the tawdry foulness of a teen porn site, including acts of actual sex? Actual sex!

We condemn Linda Reid and her promotion of pornography without reservation and feel that the leadership of the BC Liberal Party must demand her resignation immediately.

If they don’t then this must mean that the entire party is okay with this pornographic site and its promotion by Linda Reid.

ANTI-CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVE PARTY ATTACKS LIBERAL LEADER FOR AIDING CHARITY

There’s now a series of despicable attack ads on television from the  Neo-Con Servitude Party of Canada (yes that’s right, Harper and his gang) attacking new federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau for, of all things, aiding and abetting a charity.

He offered himself as prize of a free lunch in order to help the Canadian Liver Foundation raise money to fight liver disease, a disease that may one day kill your granny, your gramps, your children, any of your loved ones. He, Justin Trudeau, wants to stop that from occurring.

Apparently, in Harper and his confederates twisted minds, helping this charity, performing good works as Jesus would call it, makes one ‘unfit’ for the role of Prime Minister.

In what way, we ask?

Because Justin Trudeau isn’t evil enough to qualify in their warped paradigm of Dispensationalism and the 1000 year reign of Satan?

Because anyone who would help charity would probably also help our brave and heroic soldiers unlike Harper and his cuts to soldiers medicine and pensions?

Because he’s just not the type to throw half a million Canadians and their young families out of work and give their jobs to temporary foreign workers like Harper and his goons?

We need more kindness and charity in this world, not less. As soon as we can lets elect a good and charitable government and send Harper and his neo-con loonies off into the wilderness where they can rant and drool spastically amongst themselves where we can’t see or hear them.

HORROR AT THE BOSTON MARATHON AND THE VAMPIRES THAT FEED OFF SUCH ATROCITIES

We at this site are appalled at the needless bloodshed at the Boston Marathon yesterday, an atrocity as sickening in its global repetitiveness as it is as an individual act. As organizations, states and individuals continue to insist on killing and maiming innocent civilians as a way of getting back at their perceived enemies, more and more innocent lives are lost. Until we stop this vicious cycle of killing each others weakest and most innocent to further our aims and make ourselves feel big and tough, this is just going to go on and on.

But there’s another related subject we also want to approach here, a corollary to the problem that needs to be dealt with before we, as a society, can get started back on the road to bettering our world and our lives as we strive for a more perfect existence.

We speak of the excesses of the neo-conservative ‘evilution’. Once again, in the midst of this horror, there they were, almost feeding off it like vampires (we wonder if this whole youth-oriented vampire phenomenon that exists today isn’t somehow their creation?).

The New York Post is owned by Fox News and Rupert Murdoch. Although they eventually removed it, we’re quick on the draw and saw what they were reporting before they pulled the story from their website.

They ‘reported’ in their coverage of the Boston marathon bombings that there were 12 dead not 2, that the authorities already had the bomber in custody, that the New York Post knew he was a Saudi citizen and various other little misguided claims, none of which was even remotely factual. But Fox and Rupert Murdoch never let facts get in the way of a chance to rouse rabble when the opportunity presents itself.

This is something we as citizens of the world need to understand and be aware of. Right-wing news organizations (and for that matter right-wing political organizations) routinely lie to pursue their own agenda. In this country they will lie about Justin Trudeau, they will lie about crime, they will lie about immigrants, they will lie lie lie and all to pursue their objectives without any regard for the harm they cause with their exaggerations and obfuscations.

A huge step on the road to global peace and harmony, a step that we can all take with a little diligence on our part, no matter how small a player on the global stage we may perceive ourselves to be, is to stop listening to the lies, stop listening to the liars, stop listening to the neo-con right and their descent into madness. Then their evil whispers and sick twisted agenda will drift away in the breeze never to bother us again.

TOM HURNDALL MEMORIAL

The International Solidarity Movement and many others, including this site, wish to remember Tom Hurndall, ISM volunteer who 10 years ago on 11th April 2003 was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper.

The Israeli army were invading the city of Rafah, in the Gaza Strip when Tom and other ISM volunteers saw a group of children in a street where snipers were firing. Witnesses say that bullets were shot around the children, who were paralysed by fear and unable to move – Tom pulled one child to safety, but as he was returning for a second, he was shot in the head by a sniper.

He went into a coma and died nine months later on 13th January 2004. He was 22 years old. Today, we pay tribute to Tom’s bravery and scorn the cowardice of his killers. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. We continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, as we think Tom would have wished. To quote Tom:

"What do I want from this life? What makes you happy is not enough. All the things that satisfy our instincts only satisfy the animal in us. I want to be proud of myself. I want more. I want to look up to myself and when I die, I want to smile because of the things I have done, not cry for the things I haven’t done." – Tom Hurndall

THE DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE, GENTRIFICATION AND STUPIDITY

As anyone who lives anywhere near the downtown eastside/Strathcona area of Vancouver knows, there’s a battle on right now to fight off gentrification of this neighbourhood. Now, we would argue, looking at the broader picture of what’s going on in our society, that Harper and his neo-conservative adjuncts are busily destroying any chance of middle class people affording their own home anywhere and so sooner or later gentrification is a moot point. No one local will be able to buy a home, period.

The real problem is that most of these new relatively pricey condos are being purchased offshore and just not being used. So a useful if mainly for poor people building gets torn down and a fancy joint goes up in its place and that new building sits empty. Not exactly a useful way to marshal housing resources in a finite space which is what Vancouver is.

In the meantime, young entrepeneurs just starting out see what they perceive is a growing wealthier population in a low commercial rent area and reasonably but falsely surmise that if they start a business such as a restaurant or dress shop in the neighbourhood, they’ll have a successful business on their hands. But the conclusion is false because no one with any money actually lives there.

So, desperate with their businesses failing, they start blaming the poor indigenous population for their strategic blunder. They figure that somehow the rich folks are hiding in their empty condos afraid to come out because of all the mean unclean and obscene poor folk in the neighbourhood. Who now have to sleep in the streets outside the new shops and cafes in the neighbourhood because all the affordable housing was torn down to house the gentrified well-to-do who don’t actually live there.

This is a vicious cycle of stupidity that provides answers for no one, hope for a better future for no one, safety and security for no one. Except maybe for the fat bloated city council who are ultimately responsible for this mess and should be made to take personal responsibility for their actions (or lack thereof) and clean it up. Instead of blaming others for their errors.

1934 AUBURN 652Y

Auburn is one of the great old names in motoring, building very handsome cars for discerning buyers that wanted a little something more from their ride, but still with affordability of price.

 The Auburn Company had come into existence in 1877 producing wagons. In 1903 the direction of the company switched to creating automobiles their first being a one-cylinder chain-driven runabout. The styling and diversity of the vehicles evolved over the years, as did the mechanical capabilities and technological innovations. The success of the vehicles and the survival of the company were due mostly to Erret Lobban Cord, one of the outstanding salesmen of his day.

The Auburn 652 was powered by a 210 cubic inch six-cylidner engine which was mated to a three-speed gearbox. They had a two-speed rear axle and four-wheel hydraulic brakes with power assist. This was one of the last models to be created by the Auburn Company, the design was elegant and attractive and the price was lower than most other marque's could offer. Unfortunately, Auburn was forced to close its doors in 1936 as a result of the Depression.

NATO AND THE US COMMIT TERRORIST ATTACK ON VILLAGE IN AFGHANISTAN; 11 DEAD KIDS IS THE RESULT

US warplanes pounded the village of Shigal in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan today, destroying several houses in the course of a "support" operation that NATO officials bragged led to the deaths of two "senior Taliban leaders." The village was just miles from the Pakistan border.

Provincial officials checked the houses, however, and found no Taliban, senior or otherwise. What they did find was a grim consequence of the bombing campaign: a large number of women and children within were killed and injured beneath the rubble of their homes. 11 children were killed, and one woman. Several other women were badly wounded.

The US has yet to respond to the killings, while NATO says only that they are "aware" of the incident and will conduct some sort of assessment. Such assessments never amount to anything, however, with after the fact statements, if they come at all, insisting the Taliban are to blame for whoever the US bombs in the course of trying to kill Taliban fighters.

And if there were no Taliban fighters, well that’s just a cunning trick of the Taliban and the innocent children got what they deserved by playing along with not knowing anything about any Taliban fighters in the area.

As one CIA Colonel Flagg, NATO spokesman ex of MASH put it to reporters, “If the dead kids had told us our secret mission to blow up a village with no Taliban in it was the wrong thing to do, they’d be alive today but instead they cleverly didn’t know about our secret mission and so they had to die because of their cunning conspiracy to not know about what they couldn’t possibly know.”

EVIL CRONE MARGARET THATCHER DEAD AT 87

Former UK Prime Minister and one of the key designers of the evil neo-conservative movement Margaret Thatcher, one of the vilest human beings to foul the planet we live on, has died in agony of a stroke at the age of 87. Even as she was writhing on the ground next to her bed where she was found, she started screaming, “not the fire, not the fire,” then she was no more on this plane of existence.

This despicable creature and her policies known as 'Sado-Thatcherism' did incredible harm to the poor, the sick, the lame and the less fortunate, pursuing policies of evil that were intentional in their objective of harming the weak and the downtrodden as much as possible. And all the while claiming she was ‘right’ to do so. God will of course set her right on this claim even while banishing her to the pit of damnation for her crimes against all humanity.

The world is automatically a better place with her passing.

PARDONS IN CANADA CAN NOW ONLY BE PURCHASED BY RICH CRIMINALS

Sifting through the federal budget omnibus bill, as we so often do here, we’ve come across an interesting little situation regarding the ‘purchase’ of pardons for crimes committed in Canada.

They’ve jacked up the cost of acquiring a pardon from $150 to $631. What this means, of course, is that poor folk and middle class folk can no longer afford pardons for their supposed crimes but if the wealthy elite want to be absolved of their criminal sins, such as the criminal scum from SNC-Lavalin, all they’ve got to do is plunk down a sack of swag and presto, their crimes are washed away.

Bring a big bag of swag though, only a very special kind of criminal can now afford these pardons!

VANCOUVER POLICE DEPARTMENT CONFISCATES SIGN FROM THE POOR

A group protesting upscale restaurants in the downscale neighbourhood of the Downtown Eastside has had their sign criticizing the wealthy parasitic elite stolen by the Vancouver Police Department. Apparently because someone didn’t like what was written on it. The group in question have demanded their stolen property be returned to them but pirates being pirates all seized booty is taken on board ship and never seen again. Unless it’s sold out the back of a cruiser later on, Arrrh matey!

But we’re suspicious. A sign seemingly has no value. So we went on to the internet to see if we could find any study that explains why any authorities would want such a thing.

We found something written by Annie Gechyurgun, Phd, Blt., Bs., who is an expert who works with experts who study stuff in a really expert way probably involving a think-tank and maybe an Institute or two and they did a study and found out in an expert manner with various people with letters after their name that there is a reason why this might have occurred. The following is what she feels may be occurring and we thought we would share this study that we found with you:

“Some people are born with freakishly small genitalia. And those people usually gravitate towards policing as a way to ‘get back’ at society for mocking them for their tiny junk. They get teased in high school for having tiny junk, they get teased at the gym for having tiny junk, they get teased by their girlfriends for having tiny junk.

But more importantly, they need to hide their tiny junk. And what better way to hide tiny junk than a big sign? Carry it around with you everywhere holding it in front of you and no one will know you have tiny junk. People will see it’s a big sign and think, wow that officer must have big junk, not tiny junk at all. And presto everyone is fooled.

And of course the only way to get a good big sign to hold in front of your tiny junk is to steal one from a protester. And the best way to steal from a protester is to sign up for police school, get a shiny badge, which ironically is actually big enough to hide the tiny junk despite the badges small size, but alas it doesn’t get pinned there, and then perform the number one duty of every police officer, namely stealing stuff from protesters.

So you see there is expert evidence to show why this sign was taken from a protester. Even now, it’s no doubt performing its new function hiding some officers tiny junk. Thus ends my study.”

MARTYRED MIDDLE-CLASS CITIZEN JENNIFER PAWLUCK ARRESTED FOR POSTING PICTURE ONLINE

A Montreal woman is facing a criminal charge after posting a photo online of graffiti showing a senior police officer in an unflattering pose.

Martyred middle-class taxpayer Jennifer Pawluck was placed under arrest, released under conditions and ordered to appear before a judge at a later date.

She faces a charge of criminal harassment, a crime originally created to protect women from abusive spouses but now being used by the elite and their thralls to silence any criticism of their corruption and criminality.

The picture she snapped is a graffiti drawing of Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere, a longtime Montreal police spokesman and one of the most visible faces of the force.

Pawluck did not draw the graffiti and may not even have known who the ugly gentleman in question even was but of course that‘s not the point of the arrest.

The glorious martyr Jennifer Pawluck herself took to social media to make the case public and show the people how their laws are being misused.

She is due in court April 17.

1909 AMERICAN UNDERSLUNG

Even as most manufacturers were still building vehicles with horse buggy bodies and just sticking on an engine, there was a growing movement within the young auto industry to build what we would call today a 'sports car'.

With a completely different low to the ground style, the American company and its Underslung brand was one of the early pioneers of ground effects and improved handling to create a 'sporty' car for the younger market.

The American Motor Car Company (not to be confused with American Motors) was the first company in America to exclusively produce sports cars. Their cars were dubbed the 'Underslung' which was in reference to the chassis which was slung under the front axles. This configuration allowed the body to sit low and produce a sporty, rakish appearance. This also required large wheels to give adequate ground clearance.

The underslung design was an attempt to make the car as low as possible. Harry C. Stutz, an engineer who would later produce cars under his own name, is credited with creating the design. Although Stutz created the chassis design, it was American's chief engineer, Fred I. Tone, who turned the chassis upside down. Tone decided to place the frame below the axles, instead of the traditional design of placing them above. The semi-elliptic leaf springs were mounted above the frame. Due to achieving such a low ground clearance, 40-inch wheels were needed to give the vehicle ample space between the frame and the ground.

The Underslung models provided safety that many other early manufacturers could not guarantee. The Underslungs were virtually impervious to roll-overs. Sales documentation stated that the vehicles could be tilted up to 55 degrees without rolling over.

The Underslung featured a four-cylinder, 7.8 litre engine capable of producing 50 horsepower.This engine, unfortunately, was not up to snuff compared to the larger engines starting to be produced at this time and the car did poorly in races as a result. That lack of success hurt domestic sales because in the early days of motoring what your car did on the track really mattered to a lot of buyers. In 1913 it went into receivership and the marque was lost. But from this idea came many more ideas and Harry Stutz especially was to go on to build some of the worlds best sportscars of the day.

MORE DISCOURSE ON TRANSLINK, EXTORTION AND WHERE THIS IS ALL LEADING

A few days ago (March 28) we did a piece on middle-class citizen Tawna Taylor and how Translink was effectively stealing a $173 fine from her even though she clearly paid for her Skytrain ticket.

One of our readers has pointed something out to us, namely, that this isn’t just theft of $173 but because of the new rules regarding refusal of car insurance, threats of collection agencies, etc., this is actually the far more serious crime of extortion.

Translink knows, as we all do, that they have absolutely no legitimate right to that $173 fine, as citizens we did not allow the fine system to be set up to take money from people who clearly paid their fare, we as citizens are not extortionists, but those we granted the ability to impose these fines, have proven that they are extortionists. And have set things up so that we as taxpayers have no recourse to the courts. A judge, let alone a jury, would throw this fine out in a second. Which, of course, they know which is why they deny us access.

Where are the police? Another group of individuals we pay to do a job that they don’t perform the way we demand it. And nowhere to be found with a serious crime occurring.

All you readers need to understand, what happened here is one very small step away from government officials knocking on our doors, pointing a gun at our heads and demanding money. There’s remarkably little difference at this point. And with no access to the courts, something unthinkable even in medieval times, these thieves and extortionists have free rein to do as they please.

Pillage, plunder and party in their palace at Versailles. All at our expense. For now.

MICHAEL SONA, ALI MEDLEJ AND XRIS KATSIROUBAS AND REAL HOME-GROWN TERRORISM

Today we want to talk about three young men all about the same age and all with the same intent to destroy our way of life and system of values and replace it with their own twisted view of what Canada is about. Those young men are Michael Sona, 24, Ali Medlej, 24, and Xris Katsiroubas, 22. They were all recruited and radicalized by older leaders of the organizations that they came to serve, without questioning the morals of their subsequent actions.

Two went to Algeria to start wars and one went to Guelph to wage a different kind of war, a war against the voters in this country by using robocalls to interfere with the democratic system that we hold dear. Raping and destroying democracy in this manner is every bit as terrorist inspired as anything the other two young men committed, just without the same level of physical violence.

The only difference is in the reaction of those in the government who’s own loyalties to our country are dubious at best. With Communist Chinese payola bulging out of their pockets and an increasing use of the language and methodology of fascism oriented nations when dealing with those who criticise them on the home front, it’s no surprise that they offer up the red herring of home-grown terrorism as bait to sucker well-meaning Canadians into believing that criticism of the oilsands and global terrorism are one and the same thing. Their flunkies that go on talk radio and television make a point of subtly connecting the twisted beliefs of jihadists with the socially responsible beliefs of those who fight to stop the oilsands and other protesters of destruction here in Canada.

But in the meantime, the terrorists are all too often these same right-wing neo-con elites, terrorizing our democratic values with their out of date Bush era rhetoric and actions while trying to cover their actions by silencing and menacing anyone who criticizes their very un-Canadian behaviour. And so we have scientific leaders silenced, defenders of the planet silenced, even the very churches that preach the Christian faith are silenced for fear of losing their necessary funding if they speak out against the destruction of our country.

And Canadian voters identified as enemies by these neo-con terrorists are misdirected to false polling places on election nights, given invalid information or just suckered with lies and innuendos in order to ensure that power remains in the hands of only those who kowtow to the neo-conservative way of thinking. And all directed from where we wonder? Probably not Ottawa, not even Alberta, but much further away.

Your glorious Editor-in-Chief (that’s me) was out yesterday buying a treat for himself. Some fried chicken from Save-On-Foods and I received an immediate reminder of how much so many British Columbians owe to so few but dedicated fellow citizens.

I’m speaking of the hated HST. Normally when I buy something special on a fixed budget, something better than tins of beans and Kraft Dinners, I have to factor in the frightfully high HST on that food. The $8 fried chicken mentioned above would have cost at least another buck in tax.

Instead, to my pleasant surprise (because I’d forgotten), the tax was a measly 40 cents. I felt like I could buy a meal for myself without worrying about whether I was carrying enough extra change to afford the tax. And in case anyone wants to belittle the difference in the amount, the difference represents an extra tin of beans at Superstore, i.e. another meal. That matters on a fixed budget!

And we primarily have two great BC’ers to thank for that:  Bill Tieleman and Bill Vander Zalm. From opposite political spectrums (an issue very dear to our heart by the way; this left v right stuff is a red herring we all need to avoid) they both together fought tooth and nail to put a stop to this idiotic HST scam that the BC Liberals pulled on BC’ers and succeeded without the backing of any electoral body or political party, just willpower and determination to do good for the people of BC.

So thank you Bill and Bill for the cheaper meal yesterday and for all the other meals and other stuff that are more affordable again. Now that’s the BC Spirit!

PERVERTED SICK IN THE HEAD ISRAELI SOLDIERS USE NINE YEAR OLD CHILD AS HUMAN SHIELD

Israeli soldiers used nine-year-old Mustafa Wahdan as a human shield during confrontations with Palestinian demonstrators on 17 February, Defence for Children International-Palestine Section has reported. The soldiers forced the boy at gunpoint to walk among them to protect themselves from the anger of the protestors.

Mustafa testified that he was on his way home from his brother’s car-wash service, which is located about 300 meters from a checkpoint near Ofer, an Israeli prison in the West Bank, when clashes intensified. After he took shelter in a nearby store, Israeli soldiers rushed after him.

Mustafa was taken into custody and ordered to raise his hands behind his head. The soldiers allegedly used him as a human shield for several hours while firing tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at stone-throwing protestors, according to DCI-PS. All the time, one of the soldiers kept his rifle pointed at 9 year old Mustafa’s back.

"Whenever they wanted to fire tear gas or shoot bullets at the protesters, they would take me with them. I was really scared that a stone might hit me or something," said Mustafa.

Mustafa was released after his father, Mohammad, arrived on the scene and pleaded with the soldiers for his son’s release. "At home, Mustafa was still very scared. He was silent and did not have his dinner. In the morning, my wife told me that Mustafa was shaking while he was sleeping. The following night, he wet himself," Mohammad Wahdan told DCI-PS.

The use of human shields is prohibited by international humanitarian law. Since 2004, DCI-Palestine has documented 20 cases of Palestinian children being used as human shields by Israeli forces. Nineteen of these cases occurred after 2005, the year the Israeli high court prohibited the practice under Israeli domestic law.

RALPH KLEIN, DRUNKEN FORMER PREMIER OF ALBERTA, DIES AT AGE 70

Ralph Klein, a drunken abuser of the poor and the elderly during his time as Premier of Alberta, a monster with no scruples and no righteousness, has gone to hell at age 70.

We wondered at this site how we could best describe what the Ralph Klein’s of the world are and what their fate is certain to be in the afterlife and we decided that the words of our Lord Jesus Christ could be no better source for that description than anything we could come up. So we quote the Lord from the Gospel of Luke Chapter 16: 19-31 ----


“Now there was a rich man (Klein), and he regularly dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendour every day.

And a poor man named Lazurus was laying at his gate, covered with sores, and longing to feed on the mere crumbs of food that fell from the rich mans table.

Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abrahams bosom; and the rich man also eventually died and was buried.

In Hell, the rich man lifted up his eyes in torment and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. The rich man cried out and said, “Father Abraham have mercy on me and send Lazarus to me so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.”

But Abraham said, “Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus suffered bad things; but now he is being comforted here, but you are in agony. And besides this, there is a great chasm between us so that those who wish to cross over to the other side cannot do so. None may cross over from there to us.”

And the rich man said, “Then I beg you father to send Lazarus to warn my relatives who still live that they might repent and so not come to this place of torment.”

But Abraham said, “They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear what they teach and so learn.”

But the rich man said, “No Father they will not listen but if a dead man comes back from the dead and warns them then they will listen.”

But Abraham said, “If they do not listen to the teachers now, they will not be persuaded to repent even if a dead man arrived among them.”


Understand, these are the direct teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no ambivalence here, no maybe it’ll be okay if you toss a poor person some scraps, those who live like or support the ways of Ralph Klein will be condemned to the pit of damnation for ever with no hope of redemption.

Think of it as basic fairness just like Jesus points out:  the poor and the lame have already suffered, why should those who caused that suffering be allowed to get off scot free? It simply wouldn’t be fair

MIDDLE CLASS CYCLIST PUNCHED BY VANCOUVER POLICE OFFICER

Middle-class citizen taxpayer Andishae Akhavan, 28, had just left a friend’s house and was bicycling home to kin and kith like any good citizen, loyal to Crown and country when the Yaletown resident, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, but was otherwise sober and civil, was arrested by Vancouver Police, put in cuffs and then punched in the face when he asked the question, “What is this for?”

Middle class citizens don’t expect to be punched in the face by their own servants, what they do expect is obedience and deference to the sanctity of the citizen in this free and civilized nation. Fortunately, thanks to a friend that happened by, the whole thing was recorded on video. And it was disgusting.

The video shows Akhavan asking a plain clothes officer, “What is this for?” The officer’s response is inaudible on the video but suddenly the servant standing behind Akhavan reaches around with his left fist and strikes Akhavan’s left cheek. He’s been left with a serious wound and possibly concussion-like symptoms as a result.

How do we deal with this? What can we as citizen electors do to stop these vicious attacks on the middle class, this war being waged against those who pay the salaries and expect deference and respect?

Throw out incumbents, at all levels of government and, especially in this type of incident, local city government. Forget politics, forget the left vs. right nonsense, just vote for whoever is not the incumbent in every election until these politicians finally understand to control their lapdog thugs or be tossed out of office.

When canvassers come knocking for your vote and the canvasser represents an incumbent make it clear to them that you will not be supporting their candidate and make it clear why. They’ll shovel a lot of bs about not being able to do anything in which case you just explain to them that that is why you’re electing someone who will. Anyone. Doesn’t matter who as long as it’s not the incumbent. And when they fail throw them out as well.

Eventually even the stupidest of politicians will understand that if they want a career in politics and not just be a one-term wonder, they’ll stop the violence against us. And start providing some justice for us.

THE THIEVES THAT RUN TRANSLINK STEAL FROM SKYTRAIN RIDER TAWNA TAYLOR

In a stunt that makes a mockery of Translink and the mainstream media‘s claim that the transit system is rife with fare cheats, what‘s actually occurring is something quite different entirely and we as the public need to assume this is what's happening every time someone is accused of being a fare cheat.

Middle-class citizen Tawna Taylor rides Canada Line several times a week to work and always pays her fare with her credit card. But last fall when Taylor was commuting on the train she was stopped byTransit Police at the Richmond Brighouse station. The officer demanded to see her proof of payment.

“It  was not in my purse, so the first thing I said to the lady is ‘I just paid 10 minutes ago on my credit card, can we call Visa?’  She said  ‘no, I have to write you a ticket,’” said Taylor.

Taylor was not happy to receive a $173 fine, but felt better when Transit  police told her she could challenge the ticket. "I  was told all I need to do is prove that I paid and send in my proof  in order to do the dispute process," said Taylor.  But the officer in question was lying through her teeth.

Taylor sent TransLink proof that she did buy two tickets on her credit card the day she was stopped by transit police.  She even sent them a  copy of her monthly statement to prove she's a faithful TransLink customer who routinely charges tickets to her credit  card, but it still  wasn't enough. TransLink insists that she pay the  fine even though it‘s clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that she paid her fare. It‘s all over her credit card statement, fare withdrawal after fare withdrawal, including at the time she was accused of not paying.

What Tawna did not get was a trial by a jury of her peers as required by the people, a right fought for many hundreds of years ago. So she has to pay the fine despite her right not to do so without the people's assent. This is 'revolutionary'.

Demanding that she pay this fine and forcing her to carry the appalling social stigma of ‘fare cheat’ is not what We The People expect of this transit system. This is just blatant, flat-out thievery on the part of Translink. They’re nothing more than common criminals stealing from the public. We demand it stop now!

VERY GOOD CHRIS FLOYD PIECE ON THE COLLAPSE OF THE LEFT IN AMERICA AND ELSEWHERE

"Surely the re-election of Barack Obama has, at long last, put the kibosh on the hoary notion that the "Professional Left" poses any kind of threat or counterbalance to the malignant spread of empire, within and without. Slice the timeline any way you like –10 years, 20 years, 30 years – and you’ll still come up with the same sad salami: a political world shifted so far to the right, so deep in the pockets of Daddy Warbucks, General Ripper and Elmer Gantry that even Boss Tweed might blush for shame. This is what the Prof-Left has to show for its decades of working diligently within the system.

Of course, America’s hard-right turn (or reversion) to militarism abroad and Hobbesianism at home is not solely the result of the Left’s egregious failures; far from it. It’s a brew made up of many poisons. And yes, failure can be honorable at times. But there is nothing honorable about what happened to "progressives" in Campaign 2012.  After years of consciousness-raising – unmasking atrocities, tracking corruption, decoding propaganda, speaking truth to power, etc. – where did the Prof-Left end up in November? Supporting a lawless, cynical, corporate-coddling warmonger who has taken the tropes of imperial sway to their logical conclusion, their final solution: the arbitrary, unchecked power of life and death, not only over the grubby barbaroi but even over his own subjects. As the scripture saith, our professional progs strained at a gnat – but swallowed the whole damn camel.

Nowhere was this betrayal of principle more naked than in the very arena which, we were told, had "transformed" politics forever, shattering the old paradigms and giving unprecedented voice and power to reform and resistance: the progressive blogosphere. Yet here the cognitive dissonance was so jarring that it hurt just to look at it.  (God knows what it must felt like inside those conflicted craniums.) Here you found stern denunciations of White House death squads, drone wars, whistleblower persecutions, corporate whoredom and other outrages standing cheek-to-cheek with gushing paeans to presidential cool, testy rebuttals of Tea Party attacks, minute nit-pickings over polls and soundbites, and sage tactical advice to ensure victory for … the same man they were simultaneously slating for murder and repression. For all their "savvy" caveats and subtle nuance, their Chomskyean parsing of narrow moral choices in a brutal power system (Democrats, said one prominent progblogger, are "2% less evil," so one must support them), in the end, the netrooters were as avid as David Axelrod in their partisan plumping for more drones, deaths, deportations, drilling, drug warring and all the other draconia wielded happily by Obama in his first four years.

This is a "movement" that has finally collapsed beneath the weight of its own incoherence. You cannot denounce state crime while supporting its perpetrators. Or rather, you can – but you will look like a fool. You will look like someone who has nothing to offer beyond a pallid, unprincipled tribal loyalty to a clapped-out party of bloodstained bagmen. And all the "ordinary people" out there whose consciousnesses you are trying to raise will sense this hollow core, this estrangement from reality. They will know you have no answers for the suffering they endure in a heartless system, that you can provide no understanding of what the system is doing to them – because you are part of the system, you speak its language, you play its games, you support its crimes, you cheerlead for its criminals. Why should they listen to you? And so the people you seek to help and enlighten turn away – to those whose certainties, however false, seem more coherent; or to ever-more frantic, frenetic diversions; or to a grim, ground-down, burnt-out , grudging acceptance of a system that seems inescapable, more like a natural order than a hell of our own making.

I certainly don’t exempt myself from this critique. (Except maybe for that 2012 criminal-supporting thing.) For 35 years now, in print and on line, I’ve been doing the same kind of consciousness-raising and outrage-recording described above. (And I must confess that for too much of that time, I also hewed to the "2 percent" line that induces moral blindness when the criminals ride donkeys, not elephants. The hardest consciousness to raise is always one’s own.) But the 2012 election seems to me to represent a milestone of sorts, or a turning point or – hell, why not? – a new paradigm. Decades of dissent – not just pallid progblogging or Beltway-liberal lobbying, but the real deal, down in the trenches, courageous, unsung, dedicated – has not slowed the imperial juggernaut, whose depredations are more brazen, more entrenched and more accepted, even celebrated, than ever. Something ain’t working. The tongues are all broken. The message is not getting through.

So what now? At this point, all I know is that I don’t know – which is, so they say, the beginning of wisdom. And that’s what I want to do in this column: begin again, re-think, see more, learn more, get away from the camel-swallowers and my own calcifications, and meet our new reality head-on."
