1957 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CROWN

Wow do we have big honkin' car for you today. All 5140 pounds of chrome and steel wrapped up in a space age body style. This car was big in its day and I don't just mean the size of it. Although Chrysler Imperials didn't always sell well, in this year it outpaced even its hated rival Lincoln in sales.

The Imperial's 392 cubic-inch Hemi V8 was rated at 325 horsepower. With its impressive TorqueFlite three-speed push-button automatic transmission and a new torsion-bar front suspension, the Imperial  was the performance leader in the luxury class. And yes you could do the speedo in this car, all 120 mph's of it but she was fast the way a cannonball is fast....in a straight line and get out of the way!

Oh and for those who have asked, no she is not 'Christine', that was a Plymouth Fury, a car for another day perhaps...
