David Ho Ting-kwok is a billionaire entrepreneur and charter member of the 1 percent club. He founded the now defunct Harmony Airlines and owns the University Golf Club and MCL Motors, a dealer in luxury automobiles. He is also a former member of the Vancouver Police Board, something which was kept very quiet.
In 2009 Ho was charged with unlawful confinement, cocaine possession and possession of an unregistered firearm. The young woman he was convicted of holding against her will in his Shaugnessey mansion broke her leg while escaping for her life. He tried to keep her from escaping from his house while he demanded sexual acts from her. It's not the first time he's been accused of confining women against their will.
For these appallingly serious and violent crimes that put all our lives in extreme jeopardy, Mr. Ho received a suspended sentence and a fine with the approximate value of 1/1000 of 1 percent of his wealth. The prosecution conspired with the defense to pursue this level of penalty. Or rather lack of penalty.
All this happened at the same time that middle class citizens such as hockey mom Marisol Simoes is receiving 3 months in jail for getting into a non-violent, harmless, personal internet feud with an opposing mom. Three months! And this wealthy 1% member of the elite, a doped up kidnapping maniac with illegal guns gets a suspended sentence.
This site will be raising this subject repeatedly…..we as middle class citizens are effectively being exterminated by our own government. Studies have shown that, other than natural causes, globally citizens are more likely to die at the hands of their own tax paid for government than any other cause of death.
When do we stop this? When do we hold our politicians and those we grant small amounts of authority to responsible for these crimes against us? When do we hold them accountable and apply punishment that ensures that this can never happen again? This site doesn't know what it will take to wake us from our dangerous slumber but it’s way past time we do so!
