In an apparent first act of reprisal by the authorities against the Idle No More aboriginal movement, Ryan Jacob, 45 years old, and the son of prominent activist Squamish First Nation Chief Gibby Jacob, was gunned down in a hail of RCMP bullets as he walked on a Burnaby street.
The motive for this killing, besides its obvious political message, is unclear at this time.
