VANCOUVER POLICE ARREST PUBLIC TRYING TO ENTER PUBLIC FORUM AT ENBRIDGE NORTHERN GATEWAY HEARINGS

Police have arrested five citizens who tried to get into a PUBLIC hearing into Enbridge's proposed Northern Gateway pipeline Tuesday in Vancouver.

A police spokesman said three men and two women have been taken to a city jail because they were blowing whistles and insisting on their rights.

The police arrived and took the five to jail where they are being interrogated. They will face charges of assault by trespass of a PUBLIC forum.

In other news, another month has gone by and no gangsters have been arrested and taken to city jail for any reason whatsoever.

Now it could be argued that we middle class citizens allow police to have the little authority we grant them in order to stop organized crime and violent criminal activities. This does not include brutalizing the public for trying to exercise free speech at a public hearing.

Maybe its time we became a little more forthright in our expectations of our public servants and start insisting that they perform to our standards, not the 1%. Or else they will start seeing the business end of a jail cell.
