One of the more controversial incidents on Burnaby Mountain happened when two parents claimed that their children made a conscious decision to cross police lines and break the court’s injunction. Some observers felt this was a good step towards teaching the children about the value of civil disobedience.
BC Premier Christy Clark spoke out recently and shared her opinion saying “it’s not OK”. She was critical of parents allowing their children to be involved with the protest against the fascist Kinder Morgan multi-national corporation raping Burnaby Mountain and was presumably using her vast store of wisdom as a single parent to criticize these 'proper' family decisions to participate.
Ignoring the inadequacy of raising a child as a single parent for the moment, lets think about this in light of recent events shall we?
This is the same harridan that admitted to regularly speeding through red lights with her child in the car during the last election campaign, a criminal act that endangered her child as well as all other children. In fact, if by a fluke these families that were criticised had been driving by they could have all been killed by this maniac behind the wheel of a car.
So this is the fount of knowledge of what's right for children? Someone who endangers her own child and the children of all of us by driving through red lights purposely and willfully?
